UNOCT

United Nations Office on Counter-Terrorism

Introduction to UNOCT

The United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism was approved in a resolution on June 15, 2017 with the consensus of the 193-nation UN General Assembly. The creation of the office was also welcomed by Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres' initiative to transfer relevant functions out of the United Nations Department of Political Affairs (DPA), including the Counter-Terrorism Implementation Task Force and the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre (UNCCT), to the new United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism.

Across the globe, the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) leads and coordinates an all-of-UN approach to prevent and counter terrorism and violent extremism. As the COVID-19 pandemic swept the world, UNOCT scaled up its efforts to help Member States achieve a world free from terrorism by adapting and innovating to meet this challenging moment. In the unprecedented 2020 environment, promoting multilateral cooperation remained at the centre of UNOCT’s work.

Co-Chair

Meet Anveyshika Misra, the other Vice President for the UNOCT at Imprint MUN!
To her, MUN is not just a platform to showcase one's debating skills, it requires much more to go up there and represent a nation and to battle it out to prove your stance as the desirable and profitable one.... but in turn, MUN also gives you a lot in return, of which an amalgamation of a knowledgeable yet fulfilled experience is of utmost importance!!! With that said, she along with the team of IMPRINT MUN 3.0 welcomes you to the few days of the fight (not literally :b), friendship and loads of fun, the ones to remember
Can't wait to see y'all at the conference and spend some amazing time
